LexisNexis Risk Solutions

Later this year our customers in insurance and the automotive sector at LexisNexis Risk Solutions are going to be hearing more about data linking and our Advanced Linking Initiative (ALi) project.

Designed to deal with the concept of dynamic consumer consent, in complex data relationships in the regulated environment ALi is a LexisNexis Risk Solutions initiative to unify the way public records information and insurance data are included in a consumer’s file using our LexID® unique identifier and proprietary linking technology.

The ALi is part of a larger project to transform the way we disclose regulated data to consumers, to ensure they have a clear understanding of what data we report and have an opportunity to let us know if they believe any such data is inaccurate or incomplete.

Because of the significant upgrades we’ve made to our solutions infrastructure over the past several years, we’re now able to fully incorporate LexID® and our linking technology to match not only at the point of inquiry, but also at the point of returning the data.

This helps provide added accurate and comprehensive information about a consumer, and takes our portfolio to a new level of security. It also reflects the growing challenges for identity management, designing and customising usage-based services in multi-lateral data environments, for example where automotive or insurance data flows across third-party applications in the Internet of Things (IoT).

With the IoT and the connected world the challenge for data analytics is going to be about the ability to link not just the single entity level (for example a consumer) but also for multiple entities (for example a vehicle or a property) and making the connections between those. These are the concepts and data structures that lie at the heart of our solutions.

In this video, Jill Luber, Vice President of Technology, LexisNexis Risk Solutions talks about how we are working to solve these ‘many-to-many’ challenges of data management in the connected world. The goal is to help provide additional accuracy and comprehensiveness of the information provided about a consumer through the use of our LexID® unique identifier and proprietary linking.

This is going to be essential contextual information to identify a person, together with their vehicle or other property, and in the context of the Internet of Things design new services around them.

Our insurance and automotive customers will be in a better position to take advantage of advanced data analytics management, linking and delivery capabilities, as data sources and use cases continue to expand with the IoT.
